My name is Bianca Johnson. I am Teacher of the Year 2016-17 here at Roseboro Elementary School. Leopard country is home for me. I grew up in Sampson County and attended Charles E. Perry Elementary School. I graduated from Lakewood High School in 2006. I have been teaching at Roseboro Elementary School since August 2012. I obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Family & Consumer Sciences (Child Development & Family Relations): Birth-Kindergarten Licensure from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC.  After my first year of teaching, I returned to school to study and obtain a Master of Education (M.Ed) Degree in Curriculum & Instruction in Birth through Kindergarten from Concordia University in Portland, OR.

It’s an honor to be able to teach alongside those who taught me as a child and paved the educational road for me. The great teachers I have had throughout my education influenced me greatly in my decision in becoming a teacher. I enjoy building positive relationships with my students and instilling in them that they can all learn and we can teach one another as well. I enjoy being creative and making learning fun! As a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, the highlights of my days are when I see a child’s eyes light up when they learn or try something new. When they are suddenly able to make the letters in their name, or do something they weren’t previously able to do, I am just as excited as they are and it just makes education as a career all the better to see hard work/dedication pay off. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year.
