Welcome! My name is Raven Chavez and I am the School Counselor here at Union High School. Raised in Sampson County, I attended Clinton High School, where I graduated with honors in 2012. Following my high school graduation, I attended Meredith College (Go Angels!) where I obtained my BA in Psychology, and a minor in communication. After graduating from Meredith College in 2016, I received my first job in education as a second grade teacher right here in the Union district! Although I loved teaching, I decided to close that chapter and pursue the counseling career. I attended East Carolina University where I obtained a Master of Science in Counselor Education and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This journey has brought me back to the Union district where I first started in education. The Union district is like home to me, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunites that have been provided to me through Sampson County Schools. I am excited for the 2019-2020 school year and can't wait to watch students excel in academics and beyond!
