District Report Card
Hello, Sampson County Schools' families!
On behalf of Sampson County Schools, I am excited to share with you our district's 2023-2024 North Carolina School Report Card. This report provides valuable insights into our schools' performance and highlights how we compare to other school systems across the state. Inside, you will find information on key aspects such as average daily membership, class size, digital learning resources, career and technical education opportunities, discipline data, educator qualifications, and principal demographics.
At Sampson County Schools, the safety and well-being of our students and staff have always been a top priority. Now, more than ever, we are focusing on supporting the social and emotional needs of our students, ensuring they have a safe and nurturing environment to learn and grow.
We are pleased to report that 53% of our schools met or exceeded academic growth expectations, and an impressive 72.2% of our schools earned a performance letter grade of A, B, or C, surpassing the state average of 66.6%. Sampson County Schools performed above the state average in academic proficiency for Overall High School 9-12, NC Math I, and NC Math 3, reflecting steady progress in these key areas. These achievements reflect the dedication of our educators, staff, and community, as well as the hard work of our students.
As we move forward, we are committed to continuing this progress with the unwavering support of our community, parents, and staff. Together, we will strive to provide the highest quality education possible for all Sampson County students.
Thank you for your continued partnership and trust in Sampson County Schools. We look forward to working with you to meet your family's educational needs and ensuring every student thrives.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jamie King

Parents and others should note that the information in the School Report Card, while important, cannot tell you the entire story about a school. Other important factors — the extra hours put in by teachers preparing for class and grading assignments, the school spirit felt by families, and the involvement in sports, arts, or other extracurriculars - are crucial aspects of a school community, but are not reflected in the Report Card.
