At their August 21 regular board meeting, the SCS Board of Education approved the recommendation from SCS Superintendent Dr. Jamie King for a new high school principal.
Nathan Chabot will become the new principal of Lakewood High School. He moves into this role with nearly 20 years of experience in education and four years working in the corporate sector as an assistant farm and market manager with Prestage Farms in Clinton, NC.
Chabot began his teaching career in 2004 as a physical education teacher and after-school care teacher at Breezewood Christian School in Fayetteville, NC. Since then he has been an agriculture teacher at St. Paul’s High School in Robeson County, NC, Cape Fear High School in Cumberland County, NC, and Clinton High School in Clinton, NC. He currently serves as an assistant principal at Sampson Middle School in Clinton, NC.
“Mr. Chabot expressed a strong desire to make Sampson County Schools his home and raise his children in Sampson County Schools,” said Dr. King. “We welcome him to the SCS family.”
Chabot holds a post master’s Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in educational administration and supervision from East Carolina University, a master’s in school administration from Western Carolina University, a teacher certification from North Carolina State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State University, and an Associate in Science from Fayetteville Technical Community College.
Chabot will begin his principalship at Lakewood on Monday, August 28, 2023.
