Three band seniors, Eric Corbett, Danica Carter, and Sam Casey, put on a fantastic performance alongside members from schools across NC, SC, and VA at the UNC Pembroke Honors Band on the evening of March 16th. Our three Lakewood students were chosen to be a part of the 80-member High School Honor Band, and I could not be prouder.
Mr. Dalton Melvin, band director, also wants to thank you, Lakewood Family for taking me in and letting me be a part of your school. This would not be possible if it were not for the support that you have shown me and our students. In the words of Kenly Stewart, band is back at Lakewood! And I will use every resource I have to give our kids the best possible experience, and to be an asset to our school and community.
