Due to continued hazardous road conditions throughout the county, all Sampson County Schools will be closed for students on Friday, February 21. The student hours are already built into the calendar to have one missed instructional day and the day will not need to be made up. We will have an optional workday with a 2-hour delay for staff.
Staff, if you feel it is not safe to travel to work, please do not; you will have the opportunity to make up your time.
With an optional workday, employees have the option to not work if conditions are not safe to travel. If you choose to not work, all employees must document five and a half hours of work time before or after the regular scheduled working hours and submit it to their supervisors before May 31st, 2025 to document the time made up for the missed day tomorrow. Staff also have the option to take annual leave if they choose not to make up their time.
As a reminder, per the SCS Remote Learning Plan, students will have five days to turn in their completed assignments when school reopens. Completed assignments count as the student’s daily attendance.
