At their August 3 specially called board meeting, the SCS Board of Education approved the recommendation from SCS Superintendent Dr. Jamie King for three new assistant principals.
Denise Lewis, SCS K-12 digital program specialist is being promoted to the new assistant principal of Salemburg Elementary School. Brandie Daniels, intern assistant principal of Union Elementary School during the 2022-2023 school year is being promoted to assistant principal of Roseboro Elementary School. Tiffany Holland, assistant principal of Salemburg Elementary School is being assigned as the new assistant principal of Union Intermediate School.
Lewis moves into her new role with over 29 years of experience in education. Prior to serving for the last seven years as the SCS K-12 digital program specialist, Lewis was a classroom teacher for 22 years; 17 of those as a 4th-grade teacher at Salemburg Elementary School. She began her teaching career as a 4th-grade teacher at Midway Elementary School, then transferred to Charles E. Perry Elementary before landing at Salemburg Elementary. Lewis holds a master’s degree in administrative leadership from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a bachelor’s degree with a K-6 certification from Campbell University.
Daniels began her educational career in 2013 teaching 1st grade at Hargrove Elementary School. In 2021, she transitioned into school administration working at Midway Middle School as a residency administrator and the following year she completed her administration internship at Union Elementary School. Daniels completed her Master of School Administration from East Carolina University and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Carolina University.
Holland has spent her entire 22-year educational career with Sampson County Schools. She most recently was the assistant principal of Salemburg Elementary School. Prior to that, she was a 7th-grade language arts teacher at Midway Middle for 13 years, an English teacher at Sampson Early College High School for two years then promoted to their assistant principal for three years, and was the assistant principal at Hobbton and Midway elementary schools for a combined three years. Holland earned her Master of School Administration from North Carolina State University and her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with a minor in Psychology from Fayetteville State University.
“We are honored that these ladies have chosen to dedicate their entire educational careers to Sampson County Schools and know they will continue to do great things in their respective schools,” said SCS Superintendent Dr. Jamie King.
