Union High School Celebrates Assistant Principal Brian Richardson as Sampson County Schools' Assistant Principal of the Year
Clinton, NC, September 25, 2024 — Today, Dr. Jamie King, Superintendent of Sampson County Schools, delivered a special announcement at Union High School's cafeteria during lunch hour. Dr. King proudly declared Mr. Brian Richardson as the recipient of the respected title of Sampson County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year. The news brought cheers among students and staff alike throughout the school.
"I am deeply honored by this recognition," expressed Richardson, visibly surprised. "This is truly unexpected."
Dr. Wendy Cabral, Sampson County Schools Executive Director of Human Resources, joined in the celebration by presenting Mr. Richardson with a box of his favorite donuts and festive balloons.
Students posed for a picture with Mr. Richardson and offered their congratulations and high fives. Union High School Principal Dr. Dan Chabot, and SCS Executive Director of High Schools, Jennifer Daughtry, were present for the announcement, offering their congratulations.
"Mr. Richardson's dedication and leadership exemplify the values of Sampson County Schools," remarked Dr. Cabral. "We are confident in his ability to compete successfully at the regional level for Assistant Principal of the Year."
Richardson brings more than 24 years of experience in public education to Spartan country after serving in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher and school administrator since 2013.
Before Richardson’s most recent administrative role, he served Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School as its assistant principal from 2010 to 2013. Richardson came to Sampson County Schools in 2010 from Nash County Schools, where he served as the assistant principal of Northern Nash High School for three years, as well as a history and psychology teacher at both Edwards Jr. High School and Northern Nash High School from 2000 to 2005.
Mr. Richardson holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in secondary education from NC Wesleyan College.
