1 - Masonic Scholarship

1 - AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship Essay Contest 

Applicants are asked to write a 1,200 to 1,500-word essay that describes the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on themselves, their families or their communities, and what they have learned in light of coping with the brain disorder. The grand prize winner receives $5,000, with additional prizes awarded for runners up

4- American Indian Education Fund

The Undergraduate Scholarship service supports educational opportunities for American Indian and Alaska Native students by awarding more than 200 scholarships annually.

8 -  Sampson County Chapter of NC A&T Alumni Scholarship 

  • $1,000

  • Must have been accepted and plan to enroll at NC A&T

  • 3.0 or higher GPA required

  • Application available in Guidance or Mrs. Dove's Google Classroom.

11- UHS Athletic Booster Scholarship - UHS only

  • 2.63 weighted (85) GPA cumulative through 7 semesters

  • Active team member in a varsity sport

  • Participant in same varsity sport at least 2 years including senior year

  • Will attend a 4 year university or a 2 year college transfer program

  • Has never withdrawn from a varsity team

  • Application in guidance or Google Classroom

11 - Mark Robinson Scholarship - UHS only

  • Must be a UHS student who will attend a HBCU

  • Application in Google Classroom

  • Return application to Mrs. Dove by 12 noon

11 - Sampson County NAACP Scholarship

  • 3.0 or higher GPA required

  • Any race may apply

  • May attend a 2 or 4-year college

  • Application available in Guidance or Mrs. Dove's Google Classroom.

14 - William Irvin Warren Scholarship - MHS only

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Midway High School Senior

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5

  • Two scholarships $40,000 and $20,000

14- Rare Breed Mototcycle Club

  • Be a minority of African American descent, a U.S. Citizen and North Carolina resident.

  • Due at 12 NOON

14 - MHS Athletic Booster Club Scholarship - MHS only

  • $500

  • Two male and two female scholarships awarded

  • Must be an active participant in the same varsity sport for at least two years, including senior year

  • Parents must be Booster members

  • 2.63 weighted or higher GPA required

14 - Just a Mere Garden Club - MHS only

  • Must be a MHS senior, furthering your education in Horticulture

15 - Mack D. Foundation Breathe New Life Scholarship - MHS only 

  • $2,500 - Two awards given

15- North Carolina State Firefighter's Association Scholarship
The High School Graduate Scholarship application is open to any graduating high school senior who is a volunteer firefighter and a member of the North Carolina State Firefighters' Association (NCSFA), or who is the child of an active, retired, or deceased NCSFA member

16- Albert Herring Scholarship - HHS only 

  • Application available in Mrs. Dove's Google Classroom or in guidance

16 - Living the Dream Scholarship - HHS only

  • $1,000

  • Must be accepted into a 2 or 4 year college

16 - Tim Warren FFA Scholarship - HHS ONLY

  • Scholarship will be awarded to active FFA members majoring in the Ag field.

16American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) Scholarship

We are proud to award one-time scholarships of $1,000 to high school seniors enrolling to S.T.E.M. collegiate programs in the Fall of 2022.

  • Unweighted academic average of B or better (3.0 on 4.0 scale) 

  • Graduating high school senior who intends to enroll next semester in an accredited college or university 

  • Pursuing a major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics field 

  • Underrepresented minority (African Americans, Hispanic or Native Americans)

16 - Lois Weaver Arts Scholarship  

  • $500

  • Must plan to major/minor in visual art, music, art, dance, drama, arts education, graphic design, photography, or any arts related field.

  • MUST BE A GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR.

  • MUST EXHIBIT LEADERSHIP, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, AND A DESIRE TO MAKE AN IMPACT.

18 - NC Child Support Scholarship

At least one parent must be a current North Carolina Child Support Council member or an active Client of the Child Support Program (via IV-D services or AOC Clerk of Court services).

25 - Delta Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma

25- McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden Scholarship Program

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and McDonald’s are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Sixty-Three (63) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $15,000 for the 2024-2025 academic school year ($7,000 per semester), which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior or senior attending HBCU during the 2024-2025 academic school year.

  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher.

  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities.

  • Able to demonstrate a financial need.

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

25 - Fayetteville State University and Fay Tech S8 Program

Applicant must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen

  • Demonstrate financial need (must complete FAFSA)

  • Have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75

  • Enroll full-time or part-time at FSU or FTCC starting Fall 2025

  • Pursue an Associate Degree in Science (FTCC) or a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science (FSU)

  • Commit to participating in FSU S8 Program activities

26- NC Child Support Scholarship 

  • At least one parent must be a member of the NC Child Support Council or a client of the Child Support Program

  • May attend a 2 or 4-year college

30 - HHS Only - Al Britt Football Scholarship

  • Must have made contributions to Football

30 - NC Safari/Allen Raynor Safety Awareness

  • Must have a hunter safety license

30 - NC Hispanic College Fund 

  • Must be of Hispanic background

  • 2.5 or higher GPA required

  • Indicate on your application if you would like to be considered for the engineering or Juntos scholarship in addition to the general Hispanic College Fund Scholarship

30 - Winston Salem State University Alumni

  • Must plan to attend Winston-Salem State University

  • Be a high school senior graduating or a graduate of a high school in Duplin or Sampson County.

  • Have a 3.0+ GPA.

30 - Workforce Development Scholarships

The North Carolina Home Builders Educational & Charitable Foundation, Inc. (NCHBECF) will award up to eight $1,000 scholarships to community college or technical school students in each of NCHBA’s eight regions.

Scholarships will be awarded to students who are entering a program considered to be a skilled trade in the construction industry (i.e., carpentry, welding, plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc.). 

  30 - Catching the Dream Scholarship

  • Eligibility Requirements: 

    • Must be a Native American student planning to attend/ or attending a college or university on a full-time basis, seeking a bachelor's degree or higher

  • Application Materials: 

    • 3 Letters of recommendation

    • 1 essay

    • Copy of test scores

    • Official transcripts 

    • Copy of letter of admission from an accredited college/university

31Junior League of Fayetteville Youth Scholarship Program

Available to Female HS students who demonstrate outstanding volunteer performance in Sampson, Cumberland, Bladen, Hoke, Harnett, or Robeson counties.
