September Scholarships

The first scholarships listed here are full scholarships to these respective colleges. 

~Morehead-Cain Scholarship @ UNC CH  

  • Interested students were contacted in grade 11 and each school has made their nominations. However, students may self-endorse and I would recommend you do that if you are a competitive applicant for UNC. Your application will be due 10/1.

 ~Cheatham-White Scholarship @ NCCU and NC A&T

Applicant must have a desire to attend NC Central University or NC A&T

  • Have a minimum weighted cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher.

  • Show exceptional qualities of character and leadership.

  • Be significantly involved in extracurricular activities.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to service.

  • See Mrs. Dove if you wish to be nominated by 9/27

 ~Park Scholarship @ NC State

 ~Levine Scholarship @ UNC Charlotte

  • Students must be applicants for first-year enrollment at UNC Charlotte in an undergraduate program for the fall term immediately following their high school graduation. Note: Students must be admitted to UNC Charlotte to receive a Levine Scholarship.

  • Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

  • Students must hold an academic record of excellence that reflects intellectual curiosity, demonstrate a sustained commitment to community service and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that elevates fellow students to a higher standard.

9/15-Gates Scholarship                                               

Applicant must be:

  • African-American, American Indian, Asian & Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic

  • Pell-eligible

  • US Citizen, national or permanent resident

  • Have a weighted GPA of 3.3

  • Full cost of attendance is provided to recipients

9/29 - U.S. Senate Youth Program

The U.S. Senate Youth Program is merit-based and highly competitive. Qualified junior or senior high school students applying to the program must show evidence of demonstrated leadership through public service in elected or appointed positions where they currently and actively represent a constituency in organizations that relate to government, public affairs, history, and/or community service. Qualifying students MUST currently represent their peers or a constituency for the entire academic year. Each student must be enrolled in high school and live the entire school year in the state they will represent. Students who apply MUST be elected or appointed leaders and actively participate in public service with school or community civic-related activities.  Students MUST also be able to show a history of service and participation in service activities. 

  • In North Carolina, two student delegates and two alternates will be selected by a state-level committee. The two winning delegates will represent North Carolina in an intensive educational program during a week-long experience in Washington, D.C., in March.  The two winning delegates will also be awarded a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship to pursue coursework in history and political science.  To receive the scholarship, winners MUST attend the entire Washington Week activity. This year's week-long Washington Week education experience will be from March 1–8, 2025

  • Recommendations/Confirmations are due 9/29 and application is due 10/6

30 - Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway

If you're a student between the ages of 18 and 24, you can enter for a chance to compete on the field at a Conference Champ Game to make your dreams come true. Applications due 11:59 PM ET 9/30.

****Take note! Work on your admission application to ECU for this opportunity-

Apply to ECU with a 3.7 or higher GPA by Oct. 15 to receive an invitation to apply to their honors college. Each honors college student will receive a scholarship.
