March Scholarships - Listed in order of due date

1 - Diamond (Dixie) Youth Baseball

The applicant must have at one time played in a Dixie Youth Baseball franchised league, prior to reaching age 13.

1 - Ducks Unlimited Scholarship

1 - Golden Leaf Scholarship 

  • $14,000

  • Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes.

  • Be a high school senior enrolling full-time as a first-year student or a community college transfer student enrolling for the first time at a participating college in NC.

  • Be a resident of a rural county that is economically distressed and/or tobacco dependent.

  • Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with an EFC of $15,000 or less

1 - NC Foundation Soil and Water Conservation  

  • Must declare a major in agronomy, agricultural engineering, agriculture sustainability, agriculture education, animal science, forestry, natural resource conservation or management, plant science, soil science, water management, water quality, wildlife management or other closely related degree programs.

  • Valued up to $1,000 

1 - Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides need-based scholarships to the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen who attend college or career training.

1 -The Clare Johnson Marley-Mary Earle Berger Fine Arts Scholarship 

  • Must be entering 4 year college with plans to declare a fine arts major.

  • Rank in top 20% of class

  • Minimum ACT Composite of 25 WAIVED

  • Good Character

  • Participation in extra-curricular activities

  • Financial need-not the primary consideration

  • Applicant must include flash drive, CD, or DVS of yourself demonstrating proof of talent or ability in fine arts.

1 - The Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship

  • Female student planning to enroll in college/university in NC

  • Rank in top 10% of class

  • Minimum ACT Composite of 25 WAIVED

  • Good Character

  • Participation in extra-curricular activities

  • Financial need-not the primary consideration

 1 - The Mary Rose Mills-Linda Rankin Memorial Scholarship 

  • Must be entering a 4 year college in NC

  • Rank in top 10% of class

  • Minimum ACT Composite of 27 WAIVED

  • Good Character

  • Participation in extra-curricular activities

  • Financial need-not the primary consideration

  • $2,000

1 - North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship

$2000 and is open to a male or female, on track to graduate this spring, planning to pursue an education degree at a school of higher learning.  Specific eligibility requirements are:  SAT score of 990 to 1130 or ACT composite score of 20 to 24; unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5; good character, integrity, leadership potential and service to school, community and church.  

1 - Horatio Alger Scholarship MUST BE A HS JUNIOR

  • As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives.

  • Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need with an adjusted gross income of $55,000 or less.

  • May begin education at a two-year institution, must have a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be a US Citizen.

3- Pineland College/EMI Scholarship

  • This scholarship is only for students in Sampson County and should be completed by every senior going to college.

  • 5- $1,000 awards are given.

  • Please DO NOT feel that you must have family members who attended Pineland College to receive a scholarship. 

  • High school seniors in Sampson County who are interested in pursuing higher education at a college or community college. Special consideration may be given to applicants with family members who attended the former Pineland College or Edwards Military Institute but IS NOT REQUIRED. Character, financial need, service to the community, and scholarship are also considered in selection.   

3STAR Communications Scholarship

  • $1,000

  • Must subscribe to one of STAR Communications services

  • Be accepted to a 2 or 4-year college

3- Sharma Family Scholarship Fund  

  • Eligible students must graduate from high school in North Carolina to attend a college or university in the state of North Carolina.

  • Preference is given to those attending North Carolina State University.

  • Applicants must have a high regard for obtaining an education and the courage to pursue it in spite of limited financial resources; demonstrate leadership, involvement in extracurricular activities, friendship to others, solid work ethics and a commitment to academics; have a purpose and a plan for being a productive citizen; and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, recognizing the value of all people regardless of religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or ability.

3Farm Bureau University Scholarship 

  • $4,500 per year for 4 years

  • Preference given to Farm Bureau members

  • Intent to pursue a career in agriculture or in an agriculturally-related field

  • Application can be emailed or mailed to the address on the application

3- Farm Bureau Community College Scholarship 

  • $1,000 per year for two years

  • Preference is given to Farm Bureau members

  • Intent to pursue a career in agriculture or in an agriculturally-related field

3 - Dunn High School Friends' Hilda C. Wilson Scholarship 

  • Eligible applicants must be a direct descendant of an alumnus or faculty or staff member of the former Dunn High School (direct descendants include lawfully adopted children in the lineage),

  • show evidence of acceptance by an accredited college, university or vocational/community college;

  • plan to enroll in a full-time course of study in the field of Education;

  • and have a minimum high school weighted academic GPA of 2.63. Additional selection criteria include high school academic achievement, evidence of high moral character and good citizenship and involvement and leadership in high school activities, church and the community.

3 - Dunn HS Friends' Butler - Baggett Endowment 

  • Eligible applicants must be a direct descendant of an alumnus, faculty or staff member of the former Dunn High School (direct descendants include lawfully adopted children in the lineage);

  • and must have been accepted and plan to attend a college or university in North Carolina.

  • Additional selection criteria include high school academic achievement, evidence of high moral character and good citizenship and involvement and leadership in high school activities, church and the community

3 - Dunn HS Friends' Dunn High School Memorial Endowment 

  • Eligible applicants must be a direct descendant of an alumnus or faculty or staff member of the former Dunn High School (direct descendants include lawfully adopted children in the lineage) and have plans to attend any qualifying institutions of higher learning.

  • Additional selection criteria include high school academic achievement, evidence of high moral character and good citizenship and involvement and leadership in high school activities, church and community.

3 - Joyce Price Johnson Samaritan Scholarship

  • $1,400

  • Eligible students are young people exiting foster care or living in poverty in North Carolina who wish to continue their education at a college, university, community college, or other accredited institution. Primary consideration will be given to young people from Wayne County, or secondarily, from counties which are contiguous to Wayne County, including Sampson

12 - NC American Indian College Fund

  • $1,000

  • 2.0 or higher required

  • 14-Sampson Regional Medical Center Nursing Scholarship
    *Scholarship for students who are interested in pursuing their Associates Degree in Nursing at Sampson Community College. 
    *This scholarship will cover the cost of books, tuition, uniform kits, review courses, and college background check reimbursements for students. The application can be found in Google Classroom or the scholarship display.

15 - North Carolina State Firefighter's Association Scholarship

The NCSFA provides a variety of scholarships and grants to qualified North Carolina firefighters, including college scholarships for the children of qualified firefighters.

15-Joytime Blue Flower

  • This $2500 scholarship will be awarded to a 2025 North Carolina high school graduating female who lives out her Christian faith in her community!

15- North Carolina Region Sports Car Club of America

1. Students should be graduating seniors with a 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent grade point average.
2. Students must be pursuing a degree at an accredited institution of higher education (i.e. Junior College,
Community College, Technical College, College or University).
3. Students should have an interest in the automotive field.
4. Student should be involved in school activities.
5. Student should demonstrate community involvement.
6. Student must submit a one (1) page essay about future goals and plans.
7. Two letters of recommendation must be attached to the application (i.e. teacher, counselor, community leader).

15 - UNCG Guarantee - Application

UNC Greensboro provides each scholar an outstanding financial aid package to help scholars graduate from UNC Greensboro in four years with minimum debt. Scholars receive a financial aid package that provides them up to the standard estimated cost of attendance which includes tuition and fees, standard on-campus room and board and other educational expenses.

TO BE ELIGIBLE STUDENTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must Be North Carolina Resident Who Is Eligible For FAFSA

  • Recent High School Graduate Admitted To UNC Greensboro As A First-Year Undergraduate Student.

  • Must have at least a 3.5 Weighted High School Grade Point Average

  • Must have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of -1500 on the 2025-2026 FAFSA.

15- Delta Gamma Sigma Scholarships

15-Hagan Scholarship

  • 600 scholarships were awarded this past fall and 600 more will be awarded this spring. If you did not apply, here is another chance!

    1. Must attend a high school located in the United States.
    2. All high school students eligible regardless of nationality.
    3. Must be fluent in the English language.
    4. Must be in the high school graduating class.
    5. Must have achieved an unweighted 3.50 CGPA based on a 4.0 Grading Scale.
    6. Must enroll in an eligible four-year College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation.
    7. The scholarship cannot be used to attend a community college, junior college, or online institution.
    8. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule, or complete the equivalent of a four year degree if in a professional program.
    9. Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2025 until September 1, 2025.  Work must be regularly scheduled employment performed under supervision for compensation. Employment can be full-time or part-time.
    10. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2023 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. “Household Income” is defined as the total income received by all adult members of a household living under the same roof.
    11. Applicants are not required to provide FAFSA information. Finalists must provide the FAFSA Summary showing the SAI.
    12. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.

    15 - NC Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship 

  • Graduating seniors of a North Carolina high school pursuing a degree at a school of higher learning.

  • Applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5 and an SAT score (including Math, Reading, and Writing and Language Tests) n the range of 990 to 1130 OR an ACT composite score between 20 and 24. 

  • THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WITH GRADES AND SCORES FALLING WITHIN THESE RANGES ONLY. STUDENTS WITH LOWER OR HIGHER SCORES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

  • Applicants are also judged based on their service to school, community, and church, as well as their integrity and leadership potential.

15- Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club

1. Student must be a graduating high school senior 2. Attending a high school within one of the seven (7) counties (Cumberland, Hoke, Moore, Harnett, Robeson, Sampson and Bladen) 3. Student must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) 3.0 4. Two unopened official school transcripts 5. Typed essay minimum of one thousand (1000)-words 6. Letter of acceptance to an accredited institution of higher education 7. Two signed letters of recommendation (School Official and Community Leader) nonfamily members 8. A letter of introduction (identifying student and their contribution to school and community, family background, and educational need)

  • The $750 scholarship is open to students pursuing a college degree (Associates and/or Bachelors) in a business-related field of study

20 - Betty Jean Kirchdorfer Dudley Scholarship - LHS only 

  • Must be a senior girl

  • Must be active in school sports

The Eastern Carolina Medical Center/Dr. Pankaj K. Vyas Scholarship for Healthcare will award one $3,500 scholarship to a Midway High School student pursuing a career in the healthcare field through post-secondary education at a 4-year college or university
